Russell IPM in Morocco

RUSSELL IPM MAROC

Russell IPM has launched its subsidiary company in Morocco as Russell IPM Maroc with head office in Casablanca and distribution depot in Agadir. The new commercial and technical team would be focusing their activity in promoting Biological and Non-Chemical pest control products for controlling insect pest of protected agriculture as well as horticultural crops. Russell IPM Moroc has started its journey from Salon International de l'Agriculture au Maroc, Meknès, 23-28 avril 2008. In this exhibition Russell IPM Maroc has also launched its latest products specially designed for fruit and vegetable growers of Morocco.

Morocco is rapidly expanding its plastic covered green house production with emphasis on utilization of biological products to help its export oriented product easily comply with EUREPGAP or European Maximum residue level. Yellow glue rolls and boards (chromo-graphic traps) would be marketed extensively to help the control of while fly which is the main vector of Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus (TYLCV, a gemini virus), Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV), Tomato Mosaic Virus (ToMV) and other viruses.

Russell IPM has been in the forefront of manufacturing pheromone based insect monitoring and control systems with a wide application in horticulture and food industry for the last 20 years. Russell IPM has extensive range of pressure sensitive adhesive coating equipment to produce different sizes and formats of rolls and boards. The Company also formulates over 200 insect pheromone lures for insect from around the world.

Early the major objective was crop improvement by better growth and pest and disease management but climate control was and is still up today a heavy issue. Nowadays, environmental concerns play on important role as much as the trade's and the consumers' demands best quality and safe produce. Also sustainable and controllable production processes are main issues that will rule future developments of protected cultivation.

Life After Methyl Bromide

Seminar on Life after Methyl Bromide, Yew Lodge Hotel, Kegworth, Derbyshire, 8 May 2008

March 6th – March 14th Russell IPM pleased to sponsor a series of lectures on stored products insects during the PPS 2007 educations and promotion tour in a number of German cities.

The tour attracts a large number of pest controllers from the public and private sector and aims at educating for a better, more effective and safer use of the pest control technologies.

Tecnopagas 2007

Feb 28th – March 1st Tecnopagas 2007, the International Convention for Urban Pest control will be held at the Hotel Auditorium –Madrid on the 28th February and the 1st of March.

Russell IPM team will be exhibiting on stand  S23 promoting the latest in Stored Products monitoring systems particularly Xlure-MST the multi Species Trap for crawling insects and the Xlure-RTU, the multi species trap fro flying insects.

The team will also be showing the latest development in complex visual attraction of house fly and fruit fly in both visual light and UV light.  The findings will be of interest to EFK manufacturers who are keen to maximise the catch rate of their equipment.
